The Greens' plan for securing a brighter future for Australian kids

A caring society ensures that every child can receive a high quality education - regardless of where they go to school or their family's income.

The current education system is chronically underfunded, putting pressure on teachers, parents and students.

That's why the Greens are committing $2 billion more than the current government to implement school funding reforms.

  • Over the next two years, the government is committing less than $500 million to improve Australian schools. Our students and public schools need more, faster.
  • The Greens care about Australian kids. That's why we are committing an extra $2 billion over the next four years on top of the government's $3 billion to help bring public schools up to scratch sooner. This would double the funding from the government in the next two years.
  • We will direct the extra funding to where it is needed most, including better assistance for kids with a disability.

While Labor is underinvesting and the Coalition wants to cut education funding, the Greens are standing up for all Australian children to secure a fairer school funding model and make high quality education a reality for more Australian kids.
